TWANDA "TIA" YOUNG
Brigadier General Twanda E. "Tia" Young is a highly respected veteran, leader, and changemaker whose more than 33 years of service in the United States Army has inspired thousands to lead with courage, compassion, and clarity.
She most recently served as the Deputy Commanding General at Human Resources Command, overseeing an organization of over 3,500 personnel and managing a $2.9 billion annual budget. Tia played a central role in modernization and talent acquisition efforts, strategic change management, and critical medical response during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, she is the founder and CEO of LT3 Leadership Solutions, where she offers bespoke executive coaching, conflict management training, and leadership development programs for individuals and organizations. She is also an electrifying motivational speaker.
Tia is known for helping leaders and teams achieve breakthrough results through practical, heart-centered leadership. She is a certified EQi 2.0, EQ 360, EQ 2.0 Higher Education, and CSI 2 Change Style Indicator practitioner, as well as a John Maxwell Leadership Coach and a DISC Behavior Certified Trainer.
An accomplished professor at Bowie State University and a best-selling author, her works include Dare To Lead Differently: Chew On This 16 Bites for Bold Leaders and the award-winning best-seller Destiny Exposé, Leading Ladies Vol. 1 Anthology. She also co-authored the best-sellers Peace Within and, more recently, Her Pen, Her Peace, The Power of Silence. Her leadership principles—P3 Mentality and SID Law—have become a blueprint for leaders in government, education, and business.
BG Young is the recipient of the Women of Heart Award 2025, the Season of Service Award 2025, and is a Halls of Fame Inductee for Claflin University, ROTC South Carolina State University, and the Adjutant General Corps Distinguished Recipient.
